I have an interview tommorow with an organization that provides mental health and social services to the mentally ill in Los Angeles. I applied over a month ago and it was for a different position. What exactly are the duties/responsibilties of a case coordinator?

Without knowing the specifics of your situation (i.e., agency and location) I will give you general information.

A “case coordinator” would be responsible for making sure each person receiving services are linked with all necessary resources. For example, a client might need to be linked with community supports to help pay utility bill as well as transportation needs. You will be responsible for making sure that the person is connected with necessary resources to increase quality of life.

Your duties will be fluid. Meaning, you will sometimes spend a large chunk of time on the phone whether it’s making referrals or coordinating services and other times you will be meeting with clients to assess the needs they have.
