Has anyone ever been to SAA? I’m assuming they do a 12-step program like most addict meetings. But aren’t those based around God? What if you don’t believe in God but still want sex addiction treatment? And what are the 12-steps?

You need medication for addictive behavior. This is actually a disease.

The exact wording of twelve-step programs refers not to God, but to “a Power greater than ourselves” or “God as you understand God.” This allows for a more lax, “spiritual,” personal interpretation of God. Even so, this approach is obviously not right for everyone, and that’s okay. (You can learn more at 12step.org or saa-recovery.org.) There are other programs, other options. Google “sex addiction treatment” and see what else is out there. Good luck!
