Not sure — maybe see a doc?

I hope I’m not the only one to tell you that masturbation is as addictive and destructive as drugs or alcohol abuse. There are self help sites that help you with any type of addiction, but unfortunately most non-religious and many religious folks will try to encourage you instead! Oh the irony.

The LDS Church (as well as many other religion) do not believe that it is OK to masturbate or see porn in any form — it is actually not the most serious sin in the world, but something that should be controled in order to come closer to God (like all of his Commandments). If you feel or were told that it is destructive, you were told correctly. There are helps out there, mostly self-help books. But there is something else. We cannot ultimately overcome evil tendencies without our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.

There are so many resources on this — but the strongest you will find is through two books — the LDS Triple and the Bible. LDS missionaries will teach you about it — only if you want, of course. Go to Mormon.org and you can order a free copy of part of the LDS scriptures called The Book of Mormon plus receive this visit that will literally make everything in your life better. I know this.

You can gain the ability and strength to control your passions through His help (sometimes without even knowing it, sometimes through other people), and every action towards this goal will make you a better person and man! That’s a big reason we are here on Earth. If you need a brochure on self-abuse, the LDS Church makes one but usually confidentially distributes it. Local bishops have them on Sundays at Church. I invite you to check this out!

Now, others on this page will take their best shot and destroying everything I say, citing science and popularity, even non-marital sex. It is and always has been good versus evil. Just take a chance on this and contact the missionaries. What can it hurt? If you don’t do that, at least go to some religion that teaches wonderful doctrines such as these. All the best.
