What is the difference between a “drug addict,” and someone who is dependent on medications for a condition? Fact or personal opinion is fine.

my guess is a drug addict is someone who has the need for wants for drugs…. drug dependency is someone who doesn’t take it will have a issue… but who knows

The addict chose to take the drugs the first time.
The dependent was prescribed them.
