How Can I Stop My Painkiller Addiction?
Question by courtney: How can I stop my painkiller addiction?
Ive been addicted to prescription and over the counter pain killers since I was in 5th grade. This addiction is hurting my friends, my family, and me, and I know it’s horrible for my health. But I can’t stop! I’ve been trying for years, but no method I’ve tried works. I always end up feeling worse and going back to the pills. I really need help, really really badly. I’ve given up self harm, alcohol, and cigarettes. But I cannot give up these pills. I don’t know what it is about them, but I do know that I need to stop

Rehab!
Or everytime you want to take pain killers, do something else. Get into the habbit of doing it. Such as painting, writing, video games. Hell! Even eating!

I think it is great that you gave up alcohol, cigerattes, and self harm. If you have tried every trick in the book and still cannot get rid of the painkillers, I would suggest rehab. Rehab is not a sign of weakness it is a sign of strength. Something that may keep you occupied is drawing or listening to music. Do something that relaxes your mind. There is more than likely a rehab center near you. I know that they have ones in Florida and California. You could probably Google rehab centers near you and get help. EVERYONE is special in their own way! 🙂
