How to Tell People I Need Help!?
Question by Musical: How to tell people I need help!?
I think I’m messed up.
I’m a 15 year old girl. Last year, I stopped eating because my parents would tell me I’m fat and stuff. And get this, they were HAPPY that I was losing weight. I was able to heal and get back to normal weight without professional help/therapy or anything. My parents got mad when I gained my weight back.
This year, they’ve gotten worse. My mom tells me “I just don’t look good anymore and have to lose weight.” I can’t get anymore new clothes until I lose 15 pounds. I’ve tried so so hard to explain to her that weight isn’t about numbers and stuff but she doesn’t care.
So I’ve stopped eating again. It feels great to be thin…when people tell me I look great it keeps me going. But no one knows I cry myself to sleep every night. I’m always freezing, dizzy, and sometimes have blackouts. I count calories. I hate eating…when I eat over 500 calories I force myself to work out to burn the extra.
On top of this, I’m suicidal. I self harm. My parents fight…when they fight, it gives me panic attacks. I hate myself. Hate my body. I’m depressed. I’m worthless and think the world would be a better place if I weren’t in it.
I know I need help. I’m tired of living this way. I found a free, Christian treatment center that has many locations. It looks reliable and there were many success stories. They treat self harm, eating disorders, alcohol/drug abuse, etc. Part of me wants to go there to heal…but that means I’d miss school. And my parents think I’m totally fine. They’ve even seen my cuts. When they ask “what happened?” I lie about it. I can tell they don’t believe me but they don’t seem to care.
What should I do?

F*cking Hell! Have you got parents! Anybody that insensitive is mentally retarded. If the Christian Centre looks good to you. Go there.

Talk to a pastor, counselor, teacher, youth worker, or someone else you trust.
Call the Christian Treatment Center and get more information, maybe you can go when school lets out for the summer. For now, maybe they have acounselor or advisor to talk to.
