What Mental Illnesses Can Occur After Heavy Drug Abuse?

Question by : What mental illnesses can occur after heavy drug abuse?
I have a couple of friends which were involved with drugs, even to the point of using heroin. They have all quit for about a year now, but I was wondering, what mental illnesses could occur after this heavy drug abuse? They seem fine now, but will something happen to them later?
They are around 17-18 years old or so

well there are more mental illnesses that stem from psychedelics more than heroin, but the problems u might get from heroin is just slower brain function, trully tho there is probaly alot more that can happen over extended periods of time
